Dolci vegani - first attempts

As a birthday gift, I got me a serie of cooking classes to become a Vegan Pastry Chef.  The on-line cooking school is called Dolci Vegani and was created by Maria Luisa Lucherini, an italian Vegan Pastry Chef. Since I’ve recenty finished my apprenticeship, I thought it would be good to learn how to bake vegan, too. So far I’ve tried only the Apple Pie from the Basic Course. It was delicious!! Here some pics… And I've also baked the Fruitcake (in Italy we call it Plumcake) with dates and dried figs. Really yummy :) 

First days at work

I’ve started last Monday, on the 3rd of July. On Sunday, before I went to bed, I set the alarm for 5 in the morning. I didn’t sleep that much at night. I was a bit nervous and somehow I’m aways scared not to hear the alarm clock. It  takes about 25 minutes to get to work with the s-bahn. And the Cafè is like 100m away from the tram stop. I can start between 6 a.m. and 7 a.m.. It’s such a privilege to begin so “late”. In the last 2 ½ years I worked in a bakery where we started at 2 a.m., so my alarm went off almost every night/morning already at 1 a.m.. The working time at the Cafè varies from day to day. Last week we managed to make all the cakes in about 4 – 6 hours. I really enjoyed the first week there, and I’m sure I’m gonna learn a lot.

Birthday gift and future plans

Today  it’s already 31. It feels so weird everytime I have to tell people how old I am. And now on, it’s probably going to be even more bizarre. I look much more younger than I am. Too many times I’m still being asked to show my ID card when I buy Alkohol. I have a bit of an aversion to my birthdays. Despite that I decided to make myself a gift. I purchased a series of Dolci vegani on-line classes to become a Vegan Pasty Chef.
